Corinne is Vice-President (External Relations) and is responsible for marketing, communications and external engagement with key stakeholders in the local community and beyond.

She works with her team to support the University’s strategy through enhancing the University’s reputation for world-class research, generating compelling coverage on media and social media, supporting the University’s student recruitment efforts and building stronger staff and student engagement through effective internal communications.

Before she joined the University of Bath in 2016, Corinne was Head of Media and External Relations at the British Red Cross following a 15-year career in the third sector working for humanitarian, environmental and conservation charities. Having started her career in government relations, she has a particular interest in bringing together disciplines to create strategic, integrated campaigns.

The University of Bath was founded in 1966 in what is commonly regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the UK.

More than 50 years on, the University has grown in both size and reputation, highly ranked in all three main national league tables. Awarded triple Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023, with an excellent track record on student experience and employability, the university attracts some of the best and brightest students in the world. In 2021 the University of Bath launched its Bath Beacons initiative supporting a culture of grant capture for large-scale funding to tackle major research challenges, aligned to the University’s priority research themes of Digital; Sustainability; and Health and Wellbeing. Five Beacons have now been approved for the one-year pilot and two early-career researchers have been supported to develop towards a future Beacon. These beacons were:

  • 21st century public health

University of Bath performed strongly in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF). The REF is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. Ninety-two per cent (92%) of University of Bath research submitted to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 achieved the two highest classifications of ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

In addition, 90% of the University’s research outputs (e.g. journal articles, books, and patents) was rated ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ for its reach and significance. In terms of having an environment that supports research, 98% of submitted research activity was graded as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

The University of Montréal has a truly international environment. With 10,000 international students, the university was previously named Canada’s third most international university, by a Times Higher Education ranking.

The university encourages student mobility. It has some 600 agreements that link the University of Montréal to higher education establishments located in 65 countries which provide a range of opportunities for its students to collaborate with their peers from all over the world and study abroad.

Ellie is the International PR and Events Manager at the University of Bristol, in the Directorate of Marketing & Communications. Working closely with colleagues across External Relations and beyond, she is responsible for raising Bristol’s brand globally, focusing particularly on increasing its profile with academics and the media overseas.

Laurie Pearcey commenced his appointment at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in September 2021. Laurie is responsible for expanding CUHK’s external reputation and profile with media, public policy makers, industry partners, future students and alumni locally, nationally and overseas.

Prior to his appointment at CUHK, Laurie was Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) and served as Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s oldest pathways education provider, UNSW Global Pty Ltd. Before joining higher education, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Australia China Business Council. Laurie is a fluent Mandarin speaker and is learning Cantonese.

Laurie is a non-executive director of UCAS International in the United Kingdom.

Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a forward-looking comprehensive research university with a global vision and a unique mission to combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West.

Dr. Alice Aiken is the Vice-President Research & Innovation at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. She is an active researcher focused on health systems transformation and evidence-informed policy-making. Dr. Aiken is currently the Vice-Chair of the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and chairs the board of Research Nova Scotia. She is elected to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada.

She was formerly the Dean of the Faculty of Health at Dalhousie. She is a co-founder and the former Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research, a unique consortium of over 41 Canadian and 7 international universities dedicated to researching the health needs of military personnel, Veterans and their families.

She received her PhD and Master from Queen’s University, Canada, her Physical Therapy degree from Dalhousie University, and a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa. She also proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 14 years, first as a ship’s navigator in the Royal Canadian Navy, then as a physiotherapist.

She is currently the Honorary Captain(Navy) for Canadian Forces Health Services Atlantic, and a Dame of the Order of St George. For her commitment to the health and well-being of military personnel, Veterans, and their families, she has received the Canadian Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Bronze Medallion (USA).

Louis Arseneault is Vice-Principal (Communications and External Relations) at McGill University since February 1, 2017. His expertise includes strategic communications and marketing, public affairs, economic development, government and media relations, as well as issues management. Mr. Arseneault came to McGill after 11 years with Montréal International, an economic development agency serving the Greater Montreal area, where he worked as Vice-President (Talent Attraction, Promotion and Communications). Prior to joining Montréal International, he worked as Senior Director of corporate communications at Bell Canada, and as Assistant Director of public affairs at CAA-Québec.

As Vice-Principal (Communications and External Relations), Mr. Arseneault is responsible for government relations, community engagement and the University’s overall communications, public affairs and marketing portfolio.

Tracy Chalk is a a senior leader specialising in strategic and structural transformation. She recently took the role of Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at University Technology Sydney. Before this Tracy worked as University of Newcastle as the Chief Marketing Officer where she oversaw the centralisation of brand, marketing, communication, and student recruitment. This role followed two years at the University of the West of England where she led a complex transformation of marketing, communication, internal engagement, alumni relations and philanthropy. Tracy entered the Higher Education sector at The Australian National University where she spent seven years leading the development of the University’s brand and marketing strategies.

Throughout her career, the achievements Tracy covets most include working with the Australian Prime Minister’s Office as the principle brand strategist for APEC Australia 2007, helping shape Canberra’s city brand through the Chief Minister’s Strategic Brand Advisory Board and the Canberra Convention Bureau Board, and helping change the lives of students by encouraging them to take up further study.

Her role is to support the University’s reputation raising strategy and build its brand among key stakeholders. A key ambition for RCSI is to be recognised in the Top 200 of universities in the world.

Prior to her role with RCSI, Abi spent 8 years at Newcastle University (UK) where she was Executive Director of Corporate Affairs managing the external profile of this Russell Group university. She also led communications for the N8 Research Partnership, a collaborative mission group of the eight research-intensive universities in the North of England.

She has spent 28 years working in the Public Relations industry in the UK, including roles in local and regional government, and as a PR Consultant for private-sector clients including Whitbread and Nissan.

Tina Imig is Head of Brand and Strategic Projects at the University of Newcastle and is a brand strategist with more than 20 years building powerful brands. Tina has extensive experience in consumer insights research, brand strategy and reputation measurement.  She leads the University’s ecosystem approach to building a genuine connection with our audiences and developing a deeper understanding of the positive impact we have in our communities. Prior to joining the university sector, Tina was a Vice-President and Strategist at Leo Burnett USA where she helped shape iconic brands such as Disney, Kellogg’s, McDonald’s and Procter & Gamble. In all her work, Tina is passionate about brand storytelling and engaging with audiences in authentic, distinctive and measurable ways.  Tina holds a Masters in Marketing from Northwestern University (USA) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Management.  Her PhD research is focused on brand authenticity in service brands.
