About the University of Leeds

The University of Leeds (UoL), established in 1904, is one of the largest higher education institutions in the UK, and are renowned globally for the quality of their teaching and research.

International Partnerships

Leeds has 70 partnerships with universities around the world, including many top-ranking institutions. Connections with countries including Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Israel Netherlands, Sweden and the US result in its high level of research quality and allows for students to study abroad in partnered universities through placement years.

Leeds is also in connection with WUN, the Worldwide Universities Network, which compromises 21 research-intensive institutions spanning five continents.

The University of Leeds have launched a joint with Southwest Jiatong University (SWJTU) to deliver world-class teaching and research. The SWJTU-Leeds Joint School, based in Chengdu, China, offers a unique UK-Chinese engineering curriculum and is the first overseas school to be set up by the University of Leeds.
